Ben Nevis, here we come

All packed and ready...just need to get a couple of hours of sleep before we make the bleary, weary-eyed journey to Stansted, that human campsite of an airport. From there, we'll fly via Ryan Air to Preswick Airport near Glasgow.

Then we head up Ben Nevis. As the highest mountain in the British Isles, this is going to require quite a bit of sweat and panting.

Walking for Fundraising

Last year, on a whim, I went on a trek around the Himalayas. The experience was so amazing that when I came back to the UK, I had to keep walking. Soon, a few people joined me and now we take a long hike every Saturday. We even walk in the rain. Only a thunderstorm keeps us indoors.

I'm really grateful for the enjoyment of walking. Not everyone is as lucky. Kids in Cambodia, as young as 5 or 6 years old, live with handicaps from being injured by landmines.

Project Enlighten aims to provide self-sustainable educational and humanitarian assistance to those who need it most, the children of the world.

At present, they're also helping to send aid to Myanmar across the border. They've managed to circumvent government resistance to foreign aid by working with local organisations. For every US$ 4000, they can send in a truckload of supplies that can save 15 families.

I aim to walk as far as I can. My first goal is 200 miles.

I would ask you please give generously to Project Enlighten in support of this charity endeavour. Together, with your support, we can make a difference one child at a time.

Please note that Project Enlighten does not utilise any donations for administrative costs. All travel costs incurred by my walking will be covered by me.
